No Darkness

This week I was reading in John 1:5 where it states that in God there is no darkness at all. I was thinking about the traditional interpretation of this scripture that God is light and knowledge which is definitely true. Then I started thinking about some of the struggles that I and some family and friends have gone through in the area of darkness. I know that it's hard sometimes to fight off the darkness that you can get when that anxiety attack comes or you're struggling to just get through today. I know how hard that can be, but this verse gives us such a marvelous hope that for now in this world sometimes the darkness swirls around us, but if we persevere and make it through this world keeping his commandments then we can come to his kingdom where there is no darkness. Every time I go to the temple I can feel a little bit of that moment. Even on the darkest days I can get a couple of hours of peace from the temple and the strength to approach tomorrow with a little more hope.
